Microsoft has unveiled a new feature for its Microsoft 365 Copilot, enabling users to upload images directly from their mobile devices to their desktop or web applications.
This update simplifies workflows and enhances productivity by eliminating the need for intermediate steps like emailing images or using third-party tools.
With this feature, users can now take a photo or select an image from their phone’s gallery and upload it directly to Microsoft 365 apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
In a blog post, the Redmond-based tech giant explains the process: It involves scanning a QR code generated within the Copilot interface and redirecting users to a web page where they can upload their chosen image. Once uploaded, the image will appear in the Copilot chat box on the desktop or browser and be ready for further use.
This functionality is particularly useful for tasks like transcribing handwritten notes, summarizing whiteboard brainstorms, or digitizing receipts. It streamlines data collection and allows users to supplement their documents with minimal disruption to their workflow.
Currently, this feature is available for Microsoft 365 apps on Windows and the web and requires an Enterprise Copilot license. Users must also make sure their Office version meets the requirements to access this capability.
In other similar news, Microsoft has enhanced Copilot with the capability to summarize really big books: around 3000 pages per document. So, if you want to read A Song of Fire and Ice but don’t have the time, Copilot can summarize it for you.
