Microsoft Access magnification

Microsoft has announced a significant accessibility enhancement for its database management tool, Microsoft Access: a new magnification slider. This slider allows users to gain greater control over their viewing experience, enhancing productivity and precision.

Announced in a recent entry to Microsoft Roadmap 365, the magnification slider will allow users to zoom in and out from 10% to 500%, making it easier to view and work with data in Access. This functionality mirrors features similar to popular Office apps such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

The magnification slider will be keyboard accessible, enabling users to adjust magnification through shortcuts for greater inclusivity. It is also available on the ribbon, providing an easily accessible option within the toolbar interface.

Here’s what the entry says:

Access will add magnification slider (10% to 500%) in lower right of the application, similar to the feature in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. It will also be keyboard accessible and available on the ribbon.

This new feature is part of Microsoft’s broader efforts to enhance usability across its Office suite, and it will become generally available to all users starting June 2025.
