Key notes

  • Microsoft might request some game revivals from Activision-Blizzard.
  • If so, Prototype is the most requested title for a revival.
  • People would also love to play StarCraft: Ghost.

Microsoft won the case against FTC, and this means the Redmond-based tech giant is now free to close the deal with Activision-Blizzard. Following the news, Microsoft quickly fixed old Call of Duty games’ matchmaking, and it also made a 10-year deal with PlayStation so that Call of Duty games can be played there as well.

Of course, there are a lot of ways to look at this huge deal. While Blizzard games such as Diablo 4 won’t be available to Game Pass, per a Blizzard executive, other interesting things could happen. For example, Minecraft and Warcraft might actually crossover somehow.

While it might not be an actual video game, Minecraft-inspired items could end up in World of Warcraft and vice versa. Another way to look at this deal is that Activision, now under Microsoft’s wing, might release game revivals.

While this is a possibility, a lot of people are already excited about it. There are a lot of titles that deserve a revival, and we’ve come up with 10 video games that people would love to play again.

Here are the most requested game revivals

1. Prototype

Prototype is a 2009 video game developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Activision. It’s an action-adventure game, where you play as a shapeshifter in Manhattan, trying to stop the outbreak of a virus in the city.

The game was well received by players and critics back then, and over time it has built a strong community. Prototype is also at the top of our list when it comes to game revivals.

2. Outcast

Outcast is a 1999 action-adventure game developed by Appeal and published by Infogrames. You play as a soldier who goes on a mission on an alien planet in a parallel universe to uncover the mysteries surrounding a black hole.microsoft activision games

The game was well-received at the time of its release, and it even got a remake in 2017. However, a lot of people would love a revival of it.

3. StarCraft: Ghost

The game that never came to be, StarCraft Ghost was supposed to be released in 2007 or 2008, but Blizzard never made it. It was set to offer a more intimate and personal look at the StarCraft universe.

However, maybe now would be the perfect time to revisit it, and Blizzard could release it for the new generation of Xbox.

4. King’s Quest

The original King’s Quest is an adventure game released in 1984 for the computers of the time. You play as a knight in a fairytale land looking for some powerful artifacts.

Needless to say, the game would benefit from a full-scale revival for Microsoft Windows and Xbox.

5. Guitar Hero

Guitar Hero is another popular game that users want to see revived. However, they might just be in luck because it seems a Guitar Hero remake for Xbox X/S is coming to the consoles soon.

These are the most requested game revivals. However, it would be nice to see other games being revived, such as Tony Hawk, Blur, and Arcanum.
