Microsoft and Broadcom announce partnership, which includes a license portability for VMware

Microsoft and Broadcom have agreed to collaborate, a development that will likely thrill IT departments and those enthusiastic about the cloud.

This collaboration allows VMware Cloud Foundation users even more flexibility by making licenses portable between on-premises data centers and Microsoft Azure VMware Solution. Customers can shift their workloads into the cloud without buying new licenses. Pretty cool, right?

The news comes days after Broadcom announced in a blog post published last month that VMware Workstation Pro and Fusion Pro are free for personal use.
