Microsoft has published new Windows 11 Insider ISO files for testers, giving users another way to install the latest preview builds without relying on Windows Update, as spotted by Neowin.

The new ISO images are available for multiple Insider channels and can be used for clean installs, virtual machines, spare PCs, or in-place upgrades on existing Windows 11 systems.

New Windows 11 Insider ISO builds are now available

Microsoft released three new Insider ISO images on May 15 across different preview branches:

These ISO files let users install preview builds directly from bootable media instead of downloading updates through the Settings app.

Microsoft says the images support several installation methods, including USB installation media, virtual machine deployments, and upgrade installs over an existing Windows 11 setup.

How to download the Insider ISOs

Users need a Microsoft account enrolled in the Windows Insider Program before downloading the files.

The ISOs are available through Microsoft’s official Windows Insider download page after signing in with a registered Insider account.

The downloads target advanced users and testers who want to try unreleased Windows 11 features before wider rollout.

Release Preview builds also received new fixes

Alongside the new ISO images, Microsoft also updated Release Preview builds for Windows 11 versions 24H2, 25H2, and 26H1.

These builds preview upcoming non-security fixes and features expected to arrive later this month for stable Windows 11 users.

Microsoft additionally released Insider builds 26100.8521 and 26200.8521 in the Release Preview channel. The updates include fixes for various audio problems and notification-related bugs affecting some testers.

The company continues expanding the renamed Insider branches after recently rebranding Canary and Dev into Experimental Future Platforms and Experimental channels.
