Microsoft has released Edge 133.0.2992.0 to the Dev channel, bringing several new features and improvements to the browser.
The key new feature is Game Assist (Preview), Microsoft’s attempt to bring a complete web browser experience to in-game overlays. The new feature includes a built-in ad blocker, Pinterest integration, Bing visual search, and more.
On Android, Edge will now show red dots on the “What’s New” page to highlight new features better, and it no longer crashes when you try to open a PDF in InPrivate mode.
The rewards page will now adapt to large text settings, and the organized tab titles will no longer be clipped in the tab center. Microsoft has also fixed an issue with the browser’s new tab page remaining open when Game Assist is closed and a problem with the browser’s history list being slow to load.
Inactive tabs in tab groups will now have the correct theme color, and the color theme picker will work adequately on first use.
In the blog post, Microsoft says the Omnibox Action feature is again available on Android, and the “Allow Notifications” pop-up will disappear automatically. Microsoft has also fixed several issues with the Edge notification pop-up card.
On iOS, Microsoft has fixed a bug that caused the browser to crash when logging in and out of accounts and another bug that caused the history-all list to load slowly.
The browser will no longer crash when you change between portrait and landscape mode, and Microsoft has fixed some UI bugs on the Edit Favorite and Recent tabs page.
On the Mac, the Edge team has fixed an issue where hovering over the “Workspaces” list items did not resize the text. Microsoft is also asking Edge Insiders to continue sending feedback through the in-app tool.
If you encounter an issue in Edge, press the ellipses button in the window’s upper-right corner and select “Help and feedback” followed by “Send feedback.” Be sure to include diagnostics to speed up investigations.
But have you had a chance to try the new features? Are there still bugs to fix? Let us know in the comments.
