Microsoft Edge Will Soon Help Users Fix Broken Websites Automatically

Rollout expected to begin in June 2026

Microsoft is preparing a new troubleshooting feature for Microsoft Edge that could make website compatibility problems easier to diagnose for regular users.

The feature recently appeared on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap under ID 561486 and focuses on surfacing browser troubleshooting suggestions directly inside the Edge interface when a site stops working properly.

Edge will detect compatibility issues automatically

According to the roadmap details, Edge will automatically identify when a website appears broken or incompatible. Instead of forcing users to manually search through browser settings, Edge will show contextual prompts designed to help restore functionality.

Microsoft says the browser will “surface relevant actions in-context,” allowing users to quickly adjust settings that may interfere with websites.

The prompts may ask users to review tracking prevention settings, especially when Strict mode blocks parts of a website. Edge could also suggest checking site permissions or browser configuration settings that affect page behavior.

Microsoft wants to simplify browser troubleshooting

The feature appears aimed primarily at mainstream users who often struggle to understand why websites suddenly stop loading correctly.

Modern browsers include numerous privacy, security, and permission controls, but many users do not know which setting causes compatibility issues. Microsoft seems to want Edge to act more like a guided assistant instead of expecting users to manually diagnose problems themselves.

This could reduce frustration when websites fail because of aggressive tracking prevention rules or disabled permissions. Microsoft currently plans to begin rolling out the feature in June 2026.

The company continues expanding Edge functionality beyond standard browsing. Recent Edge-related announcements also included upcoming enterprise passkey synchronization support and new policy controls that allow administrators to block automatic downloads of local AI models in both Edge and Chrome.
