Microsoft enhanced Windows 11’s File Explorer with a brand-new capability called Shared Content, which allows any Windows user to see and access files that have been shared with them in a specific timeframe.
Introduced in the latest build to the Canary Channel, released this week, the Shared Content area in File Explorer will display all the shared files to users signed into Windows 11 with a Microsoft account. They’ll be able to access emails, Teams chats, and more.
Commercial customers will also be able to use the feature; they’ll need to sign in with their Microsoft Entra ID account.
The Redmond-based tech giant says this new Shared Content Area will also impact the other sections in File Explorer, such as the Recent, Favorites, and Shared sections. How? Users will be able to see more files from various Microsoft apps.
You can also view a broader set of file types on the homepage in their Recent, Favorites, and Shared sections. For example, if you’ve recently opened/edited files in Designer, Loop, Power BI, Forms, etc. these files will now be available in your Recent list.
The build also comes with substantial changes to the Magnifier capability in Windows 11. Microsoft added a new keyboard to change the zoom easily, plus some additional buttons to reset it and make it fit to the screen.
Elsewhere, you should know this build also has some known errors, such as crashes with Hyper-V. However, Microsoft is working to fix them.

In other news, the Redmond-based tech giant unveiled the non-security updates for Windows 10, and the company has finally introduced the new Outlook app to the operating system.
