classic outlook drag drop

Back in January, with the release of that month’s non-security updates, Windows 11 24H2 users started encountering a weird bug in Classic Outlook that prevented them from drag-and-drop emails to folders in the platform.

The bug also affected calendar items, which was quite frustrating for users who wanted to use the platform as they always had.

However, the Redmond-based tech giant effectively fixed the issue with releasing the latest KB5052093, so you’ll have to install the update to resolve the bug.

But, according to the official support page, there is another workaround if you don’t want to install the patch. Users only have to disable the Optimize for compatibility option on Outlook.

How to do that?

Go to the File tab > Options > General > User interface options > Optimize for best appearance.

Were you affected by this issue? Is it working now?
