Microsoft Flight Simulator City Update 16 Upgrades Nine Italian Cities

Microsoft has released City Update 16 for Microsoft Flight Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, bringing major visual upgrades to several locations across Italy.

The free update improves nine cities and expands scenery coverage across Sardinia and Sicily.

City Update 16 enhances Bolzano, Cagliari, Genoa, Messina, Pisa, Reggio di Calabria, Rimini, Trieste, and Udine.

Microsoft says the update covers a mix of coastal locations, inland metropolitan areas, and cities surrounded by distinctive natural landscapes.

The new scenery uses high-fidelity TIN surface texturing, digital elevation and terrain modeling, and recent high-resolution aerial imagery. These technologies should give buildings, terrain, coastlines, and surrounding landscapes more accurate detail when players fly over the upgraded regions.

Microsoft has also improved additional areas across Sardinia and Sicily.

City Update 16 is available as a free optional download for Microsoft Flight Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Players can access it on PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The update is also available through Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.

Xbox One, mobile, and supported PC users can stream the updated content through Xbox Cloud Gaming with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
