Microsoft launches $99/month Microsoft 365 “E7” Frontier Suite for enterprise customers
Microsoft has unveiled the next phase of its enterprise AI strategy with the introduction of Wave 3 of Microsoft 365 Copilot alongside Agent 365 and the new Microsoft 365 E7: The Frontier Suite. The announcements, which emphasize “Intelligence + Trust,” looks to give organizations smarter, more secure ways to embed AI into everyday work.
Wave 3 brings enhanced agentic experiences to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Employees can now create, augment, and manage content directly within the apps they use daily. Copilot is model-diverse by design, letting users choose from the latest OpenAI and Anthropic models, including Claude, to ensure AI fits the task at hand. Speaking of which, Microsoft also announced Copilot Cowork AI agent powered by Claude model.
These updates promise faster, more accurate assistance while keeping work grounded in context, thanks to the new Work IQ layer that captures organizational knowledge.
Alongside Wave 3, Microsoft confirmed the general availability of Agent 365 on May 1, priced at $15 per user. Agent 365 offers IT and security teams a central platform to observe, govern, and secure AI agents across the enterprise. Early adoption metrics are impressive: Microsoft reports over 500,000 agents active internally, generating more than 65,000 responses per day in tasks like research, coding, and HR self-service. The system is designed to scale securely, turning AI experimentation into actionable business outcomes.
To unify these offerings, Microsoft is introducing the Frontier Suite with Microsoft 365 E7, combining Copilot, Agent 365, and E5 capabilities in one package, which is priced at $99 per user per month. The suite bundles advanced security tools like Microsoft Entra, Defender, Intune, and Purview, aiming to simplify enterprise deployment while ensuring comprehensive protection.
