On October 3, Microsoft will hold a special event for OneDrive, Microsoft OneDrive: The Future of File Management is Here, where the Redmond-based tech giant is expected to reveal new features coming to the cloud service, including AI features.
In preparation for it, Microsoft is already unveiling some exciting features coming to OneDrive very soon, including the ability to free up space and better manage sync files. These were added to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap this week and will be coming to OneDrive in December.
As Microsoft is getting ready to unveil new features to OneDrive, you should get ready for the event, especially if you’re an IT admin, teacher, student, partner, or a Microsoft 365 power user.
This event is geared for IT admins, partners, and Microsoft 365 power users to give them a firsthand look at what’s new and what’s coming in OneDrive for work and school. Jeff Teper and the OneDrive product team will highlight new features and enhancements, plus they’ll give a sneak peek at the AI plans for OneDrive.

What to expect? Well, a lot of announcements. Microsoft plans to integrate AI into OneDrive, as well. And if the teaser video for the events tells us something, then Microsoft might actually introduce several AI-enhanced features into the service.
