Microsoft has issued a major firmware update for its ARM-based Copilot+ PCs—the Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7—fixing critical bugs and improving stability across several core features.

According to Microsoft’s Surface Update History documentation (Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7), the June 2025 release targets issues ranging from display failures to Bluetooth audio drops.

Netflix users had reported sudden shutdowns while streaming, which this update directly addresses. It also fixes Slim Pen haptics going unresponsive in OneNote and incorrect battery icons after waking from Sleep.

The Surface Pro 11 gets further stabilization for USB-C monitor connections, camera switching bugs, and Windows Hello failures. One fix also tackles Settings app crashes when setting up fingerprint recognition.

Surface Laptop 7, meanwhile, receives improvements for audio handoffs between Teams and Bluetooth speakers, as well as a fix for USB Type-A devices not working during first boot. Thunderbolt 4 monitor support, which broke in April’s release, is now restored.

Microsoft warns that firmware updates can’t be rolled back, so users should back up important data before installing. Updates are now available under Settings > Windows Update for all Snapdragon-based variants.
