Windows Server 26360

2025’s first Insider Build, 26360, for Windows Server, is here. It introduces the Windows Defender Application Control for Business (WDAC) to the operating system.

The Redmond-based tech giant says WDAC is a software-based security layer that reduces cyber threats by enforcing an explicit list of software allowed to run.

Basically, it will limit the Windows Server’s capacity to open some applications, including those used by phishing and threat actors. With Windows Server 2025, Microsoft has provided a default policy that can be easily applied to servers using PowerShell commands and the security configuration platform called OSconfig.

Windows Server 26360 also introduces Windows Admin Center (WAC), which can be downloaded directly from the OS using the in-app feature.
