Microsoft Removes Mscenery From Flight Simulator Marketplace After Community Complaints
Microsoft has removed all Mscenery products from the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 in-game Marketplace following widespread community complaints.
The decision comes after players raised concerns about low-quality add-ons, misleading product descriptions, questionable images, and the validity of Mscenery’s high user scores.
Microsoft pulls Mscenery products from Flight Simulator Marketplace
Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Community Manager confirmed on the official forums that Mscenery products are no longer available for new purchases in the Marketplace, effective immediately.
The removal applies to both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Players who already bought Mscenery products will still be able to access and use them. The change only blocks new sales of Mscenery content.
Community complaints pushed Microsoft to act
The removal follows significant criticism from the Microsoft Flight Simulator community.
Players accused Mscenery of selling add-ons that did not meet expected quality standards. Complaints also included misleading product descriptions and images that allegedly failed to match the final products.
Some users also raised concerns about Mscenery’s high Marketplace scores and questioned whether those ratings reflected real customer experiences.
Microsoft said community feedback played a key role in the decision. However, the company has not explained what new review or quality-control processes it may introduce to prevent similar issues in the future.
Microsoft still needs stronger Marketplace safeguards
Removing Mscenery is a good first step, but Microsoft still needs stronger safeguards for Marketplace content.
Better checks could include stricter product reviews, clearer image verification, stronger quality standards, and more transparent user ratings, especially with Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 22 launching next month.
