Microsoft Reportedly Delays Windows 11 Agenda View to Ensure It Meets "Quality Standards"

Last year, at Ignite 2025, Microsoft announced that there are plenty of new features scheduled for preview late last year and in 2026. Among them was Agenda View, which Microsoft users have been waiting for since Microsoft removed it when Windows 11 was launched. The feature, initially slated for a December 2025 preview, sadly, never happened. After Microsoft updated the original announcement, removing the preview timeline, many assumed it might have been quietly canceled.

Agenda view preview pushed back as Microsoft focuses on improving the user experience and quality

Well, that assumption is now off the table. A Microsoft spokesperson told Windows Central that the agenda view hasn’t been scrapped entirely. The company is reportedly “actively refining the foundational aspects of the experience” to meet quality standards before public preview.

Per the news outlet, the preview is now expected to roll out to Windows Insiders in the “coming months,” which means we may have a few more weeks before it is available to the masses. For users who rely on Windows for work, the agenda view is a handy feature, as it allows them to quickly check meetings, deadlines, and upcoming events directly from the taskbar.

The delay, while disappointing, could be a positive sign. Microsoft is clearly taking extra steps to improve the experience, which was one of the things the company promised when it reassured users that it would move away from its AI-everywhere strategy and refocus on improving Windows 11 from scratch. All that said, the agenda view’s return suggests that Microsoft is getting more serious about listening to feedback and enhancing users’ experience in Windows 11.

While the news of Agenda View’s release may have pleased many, a report published in December shed more light on the feature and how it works, and it immediately sparked online backlash. Per that report, the new Windows 11 version of Agenda View is a WebView2 component, which means it’s non-native.
