Microsoft Teams new calling features

Microsoft Teams is one of the most used chat-based communication and collaborator platform and it does position itself as a better Zoom alternative.

Thanks to the Microsoft 365 integration, although Microsoft Teams did manage to make an impressive appearance and got users’ attention.

Like any respected communication app, Microsoft Teams is constantly being updated and recently there were released some impressive features in the latest public preview.

Microsoft Teams updates

New emoji

This feature was unveiled last week and it seems as though the emoji has been expanded from 85 to an impressive 800.

And not only that but users will be also able to use people and animals emoji to help them bring a more interesting dynamic to the chat messages.

Improved content sharing

The new Share Tray as they named it, will help users find in a more rapid manner the content they want to share with the other participants.

The aim of this feature is to help users decide which content is more appropriate for sharing during the meeting.

Basically, what has changed from the old way of sharing content, is the form in which you share it and how quickly you can now find the content on your device.

You can even select if you also want to share your devices’ sound alongside the file.

Noise suppression Mac

This is a great and useful feature to have during meetings, that will automatically remove background noise. Thanks to the artificial intelligence this option will analyze the audio feed and filter out the unwanted noise.

Moreover, you will be able to control the exact level of noise suppression that should be applied.

Teams on VDI 2×2 Gallery View

This feature allows you to see up to four users’ videos in 2×2 Gallery View. The users must have the latest version of the VDI client installed on theirs. The feature is also available for Citrix and VMWare.

PowerPoint Presenter View

Thanks to this updated feature you will be able to present your PowerPoint more easily. You’ll have access to see the current slide, the notes, and even a view of all slides, in case you want to quickly check something.

No one other than the person presenting the slides will be able to see all these details, so you can rest assured that everything will remain private.

The audience will only be able to see the current slide or the slide they want to navigate to unless you have locked the audience navigation.

As always we would love to hear your thoughts on these updated Microsoft Teams features. Don’t hesitate to leave us a message in the comments section below.
