Microsoft Teams Reportedly Finalizes Roll Out of Scheduled Copilot Prompts Worldwide
Microsoft has introduced a new layer of automation to Teams with its AI Workflows, by combining Copilot prompts and task automation for end users. The feature, originally expected in mid-to-late October 2025, is reportedly being fully rolled out to users in mid-February.
AI workflows merge Copilot and automation
AI Workflows are part of the Workflows app in Microsoft Teams. It will allow users to create scheduled Copilot prompts that automatically trigger actions based on the output. For instance, a user could have Copilot generate a daily briefing each morning and automatically email it at 7:30 am or post it in a Teams channel.
Templates will be available directly on the Workflows homepage, offering pre-built examples for common tasks. Users can customize these templates to suit personal or team needs, streamlining repetitive or data-driven workflows without manual intervention.
To access AI Workflows, users will need both the Workflows app in Teams and an active Microsoft 365 Copilot license. While the feature is still in development, early previews suggest it will simplify task management, especially for professionals who rely on Teams for daily coordination.
The combination of AI and automation in Teams represents Microsoft’s ongoing push to make Copilot more than a content assistant, turning it into a productivity hub capable of executing tasks on a schedule.
