Microsoft Teams will allow users to pop out certain apps from the meeting window during a meeting or a Teams call. The platform will also support dragging and resizing these windows once they are popped out, which allows users to customize their screens as they like.
The Redmond-based tech giant announced the change in a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap. The new enhancement will impact Teams Chat, Copilot, and Notes, and many other apps and areas are expected to be draggable in the next months.
Here’s what the entry says:
When you are in meetings or calls, you will be able to pop out, drag, and resize your meeting panes from the meeting window. This includes Chat, Copilot, and Notes side panes.
It’s worth noting that the enhancement will impact Teams across all instances. For now, it will only be usable on the desktop platforms. It will also be generally available to users starting January 2025.
Speaking of Microsoft Teams, the platform will soon let users schedule messages in channels in advance. The feature, which is already available in individual chats, will also be released to the platform in January.
Do you think the pop-out capability will make Microsoft Teams more flexible? What’s your take on this?
