Amid reports that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle may be released on Play Station and that Microsoft plans to explore the possibility of introducing its gaming titles on networks other than Xbox, the gaming division CEO, Phil Spencer, has an update for us.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Spencer apprises that Microsoft will share their vision for the future of Xbox in a business update event next week.

It’s not yet clear what kind of an event this will be, whether a press release, a live event, or Xbox simply sharing a series of documents highlighting the vision on the official website.

But since Spencer clearly addresses the gaming community in the post, it’s certain that a significant part of the event will be dedicated to Microsoft’s vision of expanding their presently exclusive titles to PlayStation and Nintendo.

The last few months have been buzzing with activity at Microsoft Gaming. Earlier, Microsoft acquired Activision for $69 billion, and within a short while, Microsoft released 1900 employees.

Many in the industry suggested that these could be signs of Xbox going digital and that physical Xbox games might go obsolete in a few years.

Microsoft realizes that PlayStation consoles have been outselling Xbox and that Nintendo Switch has emerged as the best-selling gaming device. So, if profits lie in distributing games to other consoles and networks, that might be Microsoft’s future approach.

If you are planning to switch from PS5 to Xbox, wait until next week to find out what Microsoft has to say.

Do share your thoughts on the latest developments and the possibility of playing Xbox games on PlayStation in the comments section.
