OneNote Windows 10

Microsoft has announced it will end support for OneNote for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. This means the app will no longer receive updates or security patches.

In a message to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, the tech giant encourages users to transition to the OneNote desktop app, part of Microsoft 365, to enjoy new features, security updates, and a modernized experience.

As we continue to enhance OneNote with a unified and modern experience, we want to remind you that OneNote for Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. To avoid disruptions, we strongly urge your organization to fully transition to OneNote on Windows (OneNote M365) and uninstall the legacy application as soon as possible. Migrating ensures continued access to the latest features, security updates, and a modernized experience.

The Redmond-based tech giant plans to gradually phase out the older app by slowing its sync performance starting in June 2025 and displaying banners in July 2025 to remind users of the upcoming changes.

The new OneNote app offers enhanced features like AI integration, improved security, and better performance.
