Microsoft is rolling out a new update to the Outlook for Windows experience, aligning the behavior of Shared Mailboxes with classic Outlook functionality. The new functionality was announced in a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, and the Redmond-based tech giant developed it based on users’ feedback.
This means Shared Mailboxes will now be displayed in the same way as Accounts, providing a more consistent and intuitive user experience.
At the same time, Microsoft is introducing a unique Shared icon to help users visually distinguish between standard and Shared Mailboxes.
To conform with the behavior of classic Outlook for Windows, we are moving Shared Mailboxes to be displayed in the same way that Accounts are displayed and adding a Shared icon to give users a visual distinction between standard mailboxes and Shared Mailboxes. #newoutlookforwindows
This addition makes sure that users can quickly identify and manage Shared Mailboxes while also simplifying navigation and enhancing productivity.
In more recent news, Outlook for Windows will also be enhanced to support a full offline mode, allowing users to search for emails while completely disconnected from the Internet.
