GroupMe, the mobile app for messages owned by Microsoft, is getting new features and AI integrations. So, from now on, you can use Copilot in the application. Additionally, based on the received feedback, there are new features such as reactions, link previews, featured pins, and more. Due to the size of this update, it will take a few weeks for it to roll out.
How can you use Copilot in GroupMe?
The first feature GroupMe gets is Copilot. Thus, the Ask Copilot option will be available directly for your messages. On top of that, it will open a new chat between you and the AI assistant.
Copilot can help you with various things. For example, you can use it to prepare for upcoming events, plan trips, correct grammar, summarize information, and more. Additionally, you can use it to create guides, search for academic papers and books, and generate media content.
GroupMe developers rebuilt the group chat function to welcome the new features. So, the first option you can explore is the reaction. You might be familiar with it if you are using Instagram, Telegram, and/or WhatsApp. To access it, you have to press a message, and then a list of emojis you can select will appear in the top corner. In addition, you can tap other messages to see the reactions of your friends.
Another feature added to the GroupMe app is the link preview. So, now you can glimpse the content your friends are sending. On top of that, you can use the featured pins option to access the links and other messages faster from the top of your chat. Furthermore, you can scroll through the pins to access them more easily.
Can you manage events from the app?
GroupMe has an integrated option for events management. You can use it to find upcoming events and to see who is attending from your friends list. Besides that, it has more details about the event. To create your own, click on the profile picture of your friend or group, select calendar, and then tap the create event option.
GroupMe developers also added a feature for video calls. So, now you can either start or schedule one. All you need to do is tap on the video call button. You can make the scheduled call an event so that neither you nor your friends forget about it.
In a nutshell, the GroupMe application is getting various features. In addition, you can use AI directly from it. On top of that, you can schedule meetings, create and find events, and manage messages easier. By the way, Microsoft will keep updating it, and we will see new features rolling out this summer. Also, if the white theme doesn’t suit your style or preference, here’s how to set the dark theme.
