Suppose you’re still on Windows 7, by any chance. In that case, you should know that you can still run the Firefox browser on it until September 2025, and possibly even longer, as Mozilla announced in a recent blog post that it would re-evaluate the decision in August.
Initially, Firefox’s support for Windows 7 was due to end in September 2024, but the company decided to extend it because there are still Windows 7 users.
As the six months of extended support are coming to an end, Mozilla has extended it once again until September, and the company will most likely extend it even more by August if there are any more Windows 7 users by then.
We decided to extend support for ESR 115 only on Windows 7-8.1 and macOS 10.12-10.14 until September 2025. We will reevaluate this decision in August 2025 and announce any updates on ESR 115’s end-of-life then.
So, to any Windows 7 users out there. Celebrate today!
