Intel recently unveiled its new Arc G3 gaming chips, claiming that the flagship Arc G3 Extreme can outperform the ROG XBOX Ally X in certain gaming scenarios. One of the first devices set to use the new hardware is MSI’s upcoming Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3EM handheld.

MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ Appears on MSI Store

Now, the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ has appeared on MSI’s official U.S. store, revealing a significantly higher price than many expected.

According to a listing spotted by VideoCardz, MSI’s official store currently lists the Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3EM for $1,799. The price is notably higher than earlier expectations, which suggested the handheld would launch closer to the $1,500 mark.

The MSI Store listing also comes in above prices previously seen at major retailers. Best Buy recently listed the handheld for $1,699, while Newegg’s product page does not publicly display a price. However, Newegg’s AI shopping assistant reportedly returns a $1,699 price when users ask about the device and links directly to the product page.

At the moment, MSI has not announced any special bundle, accessories, or premium package that would explain the $100 difference between its own store and third-party retailers.

Pricing Raises Questions Ahead of Launch

The pricing positions the Claw 8 EX AI+ among the most expensive gaming handhelds announced to date. While premium handheld gaming PCs have continued to rise in price, the Claw 8 EX AI+ enters the market well above most competing devices.

MSI is expected to reveal additional details about availability and final retail configurations closer to launch. It remains unclear whether the official MSI Store pricing reflects the final MSRP or if retailer listings will ultimately become the standard launch price.

In other handheld gaming news, XBOX recently expanded its Stream Your Own Game program with 51 additional titles, giving Game Pass Ultimate subscribers more cloud-streaming options across supported devices.
