NexDock has built its reputation around lapdocks for Samsung DeX and Microsoft Continuum. Now the company is moving into hardware with a dedicated phone.

As Windows Central reports, NexDock has announced the NexPhone, a new smartphone planned for release in 2026. The device stands out by shipping with Windows 11 preinstalled while also supporting Android and Linux through dual-boot options.

NexPhone can run almost any OS, comes with Windows 11

NexPhone features a 6.58-inch touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, targeting users who want a smooth desktop-like experience on a small display. NexDock built a custom Windows 11 launcher shell that simplifies app navigation and usability on the phone’s touchscreen.

Under the hood, the device runs on the Qualcomm Dragonwing QCM6490 SoC, paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. A 5,000 mAh battery powers the phone, with support for 18W wired and wireless charging.

NexDock positions NexPhone as a pocket PC. Users can connect it to a lapdock or external monitor and use it like a full desktop system, without relying on cloud streaming or remote desktops. The phone also supports 5G connectivity, NFC for contactless payments, and expandable storage via a microSD card slot.

Unlike most smartphones, NexPhone targets industrial-grade durability. NexDock says the device meets MIL-STD-810H standards and carries IP68/IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance, making it suitable for harsh environments.

NexDock plans to sell NexPhone for $549. The company will open preorders with a $199 refundable deposit ahead of a planned Q3 2026 launch.
