After debuting at the CES 2026, NVIDIA has started rolling out DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution to all NVIDIA app users. The update brings a noticeable jump to image quality across more than 400 games and apps. The update is available right now through the NVIDIA app and works on all GeForce RTX GPUs.

DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution boosts image quality like never before

At the core of DLSS 4.5 is a second-generation transformer model. NVIDIA says it’s the biggest upgrade yet, built on eight years of DLSS research and trained using a much larger, high-fidelity dataset. Compared to the original transformer model, this one uses five times more compute power.

DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution also improves temporal stability, which has been one of the biggest pain points in AI upscaling. NVIDIA says that early testing backs this claim. Digital Foundry notes that the difference is “quite large,” while Linus Tech Tips calls the upgrade a major visual jump. HotHardware has added that the new model delivers “radically improved visual quality.”

Alongside DLSS 4.5, NVIDIA confirmed that DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation is now supported in over 250 games and apps. The company is also rolling out support to more titles, including upcoming RTX games showcased at CES 2026, like 007 First Light, PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem, Phantom Blade Zero, and DEFECT. Two new DLSS-enabled titles, StarRupture and LET IT DIE: INFERNO, also join the list this week.

NVIDIA is also improving how users manage DLSS inside the NVIDIA app. A new “Recommended” DLSS override option replaces the older “Latest” option and automatically selects optimized presets based on performance and resolution. That said, RTX 20 and RTX 30 series users may prefer sticking with older models due to higher performance costs.

In the Spring, NVIDIA has confirmed that Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation with a new 6X mode will be launched, which will push DLSS even further.
