NVIDIA GPU prices could rise by 20% to 30% as higher memory costs and strong demand from the AI industry continue putting pressure on the consumer graphics card market.

According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, NVIDIA is preparing another price adjustment that could affect its entire graphics card lineup. NVIDIA has not publicly confirmed the reported increase.

NVIDIA reportedly plans another GPU price increase

Graphics card manufacturers have reportedly received information about the planned changes. The adjustment could cover both high-end and mainstream models rather than targeting only NVIDIA’s most expensive cards.

Products equipped with newer GDDR7 memory may increase in price, but graphics cards that use older GDDR6 memory could also become more expensive.

This would mark NVIDIA’s third reported graphics card price increase this year. MSI and Colorful have already raised RTX 50 GPU prices in China by up to 20%.

RTX 5090 and RTX 5060 Ti prices have already climbed

The GeForce RTX 5090 launched with a recommended price of $1,999. However, some models reportedly sell for between $3,999 and $4,500, depending on availability and the manufacturer.

The RTX 5060 Ti has also increased from approximately $379 to around $569 in some markets.

A further 20% to 30% increase would make NVIDIA’s current graphics cards considerably more expensive, especially for buyers already dealing with limited availability and inflated retail prices.

Rising DRAM costs are putting pressure on GPU prices

The reported increase relates to the rising cost of DRAM and other memory components. AI infrastructure providers and data center operators continue purchasing large quantities of GPUs, memory, and related hardware.

Demand has grown faster than component manufacturers can expand production. This leaves fewer components available for consumer products and raises manufacturing costs for graphics card companies.

NVIDIA benefits heavily from the AI infrastructure boom, but the company’s growing data center business also contributes to stronger demand across the hardware supply chain.

AI expansion could keep consumer GPU prices high

Large technology companies continue investing in AI data centers, servers, processors, and memory. NVIDIA and SK Group recently announced plans for a $500 billion AI infrastructure expansion.

NVIDIA is also expanding its internal hardware capabilities. The company’s Vera CPU is already helping develop its next generation of chips.

For consumer buyers, continued AI demand could mean higher graphics card prices and fewer opportunities to purchase new models near their recommended prices.

The reported price increase remains unconfirmed, and NVIDIA has not announced when any adjustment could take effect.
