Many reported that OMEN Gaming Hub is always running in the background, and this can be a problem, especially if you don’t use this software that often. However, there’s a way to fix it and today we’re going to show you how to do it.
What can I do if OMEN Gaming Hub is running in the background?
1. Change advanced app options
- Open Settings, go to Apps, and select Installed apps.
- Locate OMEN Gaming Hub and click the three dots next to it.
- Select Advanced options.
- Set Let this app in background to Never.
- Also, disable the Runs at log-in option if available.
2. Disable the app from Task Manager
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Navigate to the Startup tab and locate OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Click on Disable.
- After that, the application won’t start automatically with your PC anymore.
3. Disable HP Omen scheduled tasks
- Press the Windows key + S and type task scheduler. Select Task Scheduler from the list.
- Go to Task Scheduler Library and disable all HP tasks.
- Save changes.
Keep in mind that disabling certain tasks might cause issues with other HP software.
4. Remove OMEN Gaming Hub
- Navigate to the Installed apps section.
- Next, locate OMEN Gaming Hub and click the three dots next to it.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Follow the steps on the screen to complete the process.
You can download OMEN Gaming Hub and install it again, but if the issue persists, you might have to keep it disabled.
If the OMEN Gaming Hub is running in the background, that’s normal behavior for the app, but you can disable it by changing the advanced app options or by disabling it from Task Manager.
