OpenAI's new ChatGPT Pro is one of the most expensive AI models on the market right now

OpenAI has announced a new subscription tier for its ChatGPT service, ChatGPT Pro. According to OpenAI, the Pro plan is meant for “power users” who want the best of the best, and as a result, it comes with a hefty price tag.

ChatGPT Pro costs $200 per month, ten times more expensive than the existing Plus plan, which costs $20 per month.

In addition to all the features available in the Plus plan, including access to the OpenAI-1 and OpenAI-1 Mini models, ChatGPT Pro customers get unlimited access to those two models and the more powerful GPT-4o model.

ChatGPT Pro also introduces OpenAI-1 Pro Mode, which uses additional computational resources to generate better answers to hard questions. OpenAI claims that OpenAI-1 Pro Mode outperforms both OpenAI-1 and OpenAI-1 Mini on several benchmarks.

Finally, ChatGPT Pro enables access to OpenAI’s advanced voice capabilities, including the generation of voice clips up to five minutes long.

In a blog post, OpenAI says it will add more features to ChatGPT Pro and launch it in the coming weeks.

• ChatGPT Hobbyist (formerly Free): Access to the OpenAI-1 Mini model and the ability to chat for free with limitations.
• ChatGPT Plus: Everything in ChatGPT Hobbyist, and access to the OpenAI-1, OpenAI-1 Mini, and GPT-4o models (with messaging limits), plus more messages (up to 5X) for the GPT-4o model and features like WebGenerative and data analysis.
• ChatGPT Team: Everything in ChatGPT Plus, including support for multiple users and API keys on a team account, plus more messages (up to 3X) for the GPT-4o model and features like WebGenerative and data analysis.
• ChatGPT Pro: Everything in ChatGPT Plus includes unlimited access to the OpenAI-1, OpenAI-1 Mini, and GPT-4o models, OpenAI-1 Pro Mode, and access to advanced voice and priority support.

Now, the question is: will you pay $200 per month for the ability to chat with GPT-4o without limits, or does the idea of a $200 plan seem (understandably) absurd?
