Paid Claude Users Claim Anthropic Ended Fable 5 Promotion Before July 19

Anthropic only recently brought Claude Fable 5 back after the company was cleared to resume service following its dispute with the U.S. government. Shortly afterward, it also announced that paid Claude subscribers would continue receiving promotional access to the model until July 19, extending an earlier deadline of July 12. Now, however, some users believe that isn’t what happened.

Reddit users say the Claude Fable promotion has been revoked early

Over the past day, Reddit has filled with posts from Claude subscribers claiming that access to Fable 5 no longer matches what Anthropic had promised. Several users said they expected to continue using the model through July 19 under the promotional offer, only to find the experience had changed before that date.

One Reddit user posted “The just took FABLE off Max plans?” Others referenced Anthropic’s support page, which had stated that eligible Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers would have access to Claude Fable 5 through July 19 at 11:59:59 PM PT. Meanwhile some took a dig at Anthropic by posting “Apparently 17 === 19 according to Anthropic” and “The company suck at communication.”

Speaking of the backlash, Anthropic has yet to publicly comment on the Reddit posts or explain whether the reported changes are intentional, a temporary issue, or simply related to usage limits under the promotion.
