PowerToys 0.99.1 brings fixes for crashes and input issues
Microsoft has released PowerToys 0.99.1 shortly after version 0.99, addressing several bugs that affected newly introduced features. The update focuses on stability improvements and fixes for tools like Command Palette, Grab and Move, and Power Display.
The release comes as a quick follow-up after users reported issues with crashes, input conflicts, and inconsistent settings behavior. This patch aims to make the latest additions more reliable in everyday use.
Command Palette fixes
The Command Palette received multiple fixes targeting stability and usability problems:
- Fixed a startup crash caused by null DockSettings
- Resolved issue where dock label settings did not persist across sessions
Grab And Move improvements
Microsoft also addressed input-related issues in the Grab And Move tool:
- Fixed bug where releasing the Alt key blocked input in other apps
- Prevented dragging system surfaces like the Start menu
- Resolved conflict where the “G” key was blocked or triggered Xbox Game Bar
Power Display updates
Power Display saw several improvements focused on reliability and user safety:
- Added diagnostic logging for display detection issues
- Set default states (input source, color temperature, power) to off
- Introduced confirmation dialog for disruptive display changes
- Improved localization for built-in display names
