Proton Adds Projects to Lumo AI for Organized, Private Workflows

lumo 1.3 released

As reported by Neowin, Proton has rolled out a new Projects feature for Lumo, designed to help users manage ongoing work without losing context between sessions.

Lumo gains Projects for long-term AI workflows

The new Projects feature introduces a dedicated, encrypted workspace where users can group chats, files, and instructions around a specific task. Instead of restarting conversations or re-explaining goals, Lumo keeps everything organized in one place.

Projects sync across devices and sessions, allowing Lumo to maintain context for recurring or long-running tasks. Each Project can store custom instructions, preferred tone, and focus areas, so the assistant adapts consistently over time.

Deeper integration with Proton Drive

Projects also integrate directly with Proton Drive. Users can link folders and documents to a Project, giving Lumo quick access to relevant files while keeping everything encrypted.

Proton says all Projects use end-to-end encryption, ensuring only the user can access the content. Lumo itself relies on zero-access encryption and does not use user data to train AI models, reinforcing Proton’s privacy stance.

Built for reports, planning, and ongoing tasks

With Projects, Lumo targets use cases such as report writing, financial tracking, planning, and other structured workflows where context matters. By remembering details automatically, the chatbot reduces repetitive input and improves continuity.

Users can learn more about the update in the Lumo 1.3 blog post published by Proton.

Beyond Proton, Anthropic recently introduced a new Cowork feature for Claude, while also preparing a dedicated Claude for Healthcare offering.

Meanwhile, Grok remains under scrutiny, as the United Kingdom works on new legislation aimed at preventing the creation of non-consensual deepfake content using AI tools.
