Raspberry Pi Launches 3GB Pi 4 at $83.75 & Increases Prices on Higher-Memory Models
Memory prices are hitting record highs, and Raspberry Pi is feeling the hit. The cost of LPDDR4 DRAM used in Pi 4 and 5 models has climbed seven-fold in the past year, according to industry trackers. To keep computing affordable, Raspberry Pi is adding a new 3GB Pi 4 at $83.75 while adjusting prices on higher-memory models.
Here’s a breakdown of the price jump:
| Product | Density | Price increase |
| Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 | 4GB | $25 |
| Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 | 8GB | $50 |
| Raspberry Pi 5 | 16GB | $100 |
| Raspberry Pi 500 (unit only and kit) | – | $50 |
| Raspberry Pi 500+ unit only | – | $150 |
| Raspberry Pi 500+ kit | – | $150 |
| Compute Module 4 and 4S | 1GB | $11.25 |
| Compute Module 4, 4S, 5 | 2GB | $12.50 |
| Compute Module 4, 4S, 5 | 4GB | $25 |
| Compute Module 4, 4S, 5 | 8GB | $50 |
| Compute Module 5 | 16GB | $100 |
| Development Kit for Compute Module 5 | – | $25 |
| Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ 2 | – | $50 |
Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 models with 4GB now cost an extra $25, 8GB sees a $50 bump, and the Pi 5 16GB version jumps $100. Other devices impacted include the Raspberry Pi 500 and 500+, Compute Module 4, 4S, 5, the Compute Module 5 Development Kit, and the Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ 2.
Raspberry Pi emphasizes that lower-memory models remain affordable. The Pi 400 with 4GB still costs $60, and 1GB–2GB versions of Pi 4 and 5 range from $35 to $65. Classic models including Pi Zero, Zero W, Zero 2 W, Pi 1, 3, 3B+, 3A+, and Compute Module 1 and 3+ are unaffected, as they use older LPDDR2 DRAM stock.
The company advises buyers to choose the memory they actually need rather than paying for excess. While current memory prices are high, these increases are seen as temporary, and Raspberry Pi plans to roll back price hikes once costs stabilize, keeping computing accessible and flexible across its product range.
