Capcom may already be planning what comes after Resident Evil Veronica Remake. A fresh leak claims the publisher isn’t stopping with the remake itself. Rather, it reportedly has a full story expansion lined up for release in 2028. The news comes via a well-known Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem, who shared the details on X (via Insider Gaming).

Capcom reportedly wants bigger DLCs instead of spin-offs for Resident Evil Requiem and Veronica Remake

According to the leaker, Capcom is shifting more of its development effort toward large post-launch expansions rather than standalone Resident Evil spin-offs. That would continue a strategy many fans have already seen with Resident Evil 4’s Separate Ways and Resident Evil Village’s Shadows of Rose. Both story expansions were well received and added meaningful content after launch.

Speaking of the reported roadmap, the Veronica expansion isn’t expected to arrive immediately. Dusk Golem claims Resident Evil Requiem will receive its own story DLC first, with the Veronica expansion reportedly following sometime in 2028.

Resident Evil Veronica Remake is still expected in 2027

As of now, Resident Evil Veronica Remake is reportedly targeting a 2027 release, although the exact launch window could still change during development. Capcom previously confirmed the remake is being developed by the same team behind the acclaimed Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes. It is also expected to use the RE Engine and feature third-person survival horror gameplay.

That said, none of the reported DLC plans are official. Like any early development leak, Capcom could alter or cancel them before release.
