In the press release, Samsung emphasizes the huge 25 battery life of Galaxy Book Pro 16 as well as the 30 minute charging time for replenishing 35% of the battery. Of course, these numbers will vary depending on the system settings and the usage, but the numbers still look pretty good.
Samsung didn’t disclose the exact Intel Ultra Core 5 and 7 processors that will power the new laptops, but we know that they will be from the Series 2 flavor.
Another powerful statement for the new Book5 laptops is the Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 3K resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate that would woo any gamer and graphics designer out there. Of course, the touch screen will come with a stylus support for designers and note takers.
You may also expect quad speakers and Dolby Atmos decoding and 38 mm woofers for deeper bass sound instead of the 16 mm ones from Book4 Pro laptops.
You will also get 16GB or 32 GB of RAM, a selection of 256GB/ 512 GB/ 1TB SSD storage space and a 2 megapixel webcam on board.
Samsung is also generous on the connectivity side, offering 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports and a HDMI 2.1, a USB-A port and a microSD card slot. The only USB-C port seems to be the one for the 65W power adapter.
As for the Galaxy Book5 360, it has the same 2 in 1 convertible design as the previous model. It features a 15.6-inch AMOLED screen, no touch support and a 60 Hz refresh rate. Book5 360 will have the same 16GB/32GB options for RAM and 256GB/ 512 GB/ 1TB choices for storage. Although the 68.1 Wh has slightly les capacity than the 76.1 Wh from the Book5 Pro laptops, the fact that Galaxy Book5 360 also has a smaller screen might lead to approximately same battery life.
Samsung mentions the same Intel Ultra Core 5 and 7 processors EVO CPUs will power the Galaxy Book5 360 laptop, although they might come into less pricy options than the Pro models.
Another aspect to note is that all the new Samsung laptops will come with Intel Arc integrated graphics. So, although they will be powerful for average use, they will not fill hardcore gaming requirements.
As for the prices, we only know the one from Galaxy Book5 360, which starts at a blistering $1,699. You should most likely prepare a bigger budget for Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro.
