Skype Call System Messages

Less than a week since the last build, Skype Insider got another build earlier today, and this one brings a revamped Call System Messages interface, that makes it look more modern, according to the platform’s latest blog post.

It seems that Microsoft wants to transform Skype into a fully-fledged modern communication app, most probably in a bid to make it more competitive on the market. For example, last week, Skype debuted redesigned messaging menus, and two weeks ago, the platform debuted new calling and camera experiences.

The new Call System Messages UI has a clean look, and it looks easy to use, which is exactly what Skype should be striving for if it wants to compete with WhatsApp, Messenger, or Telegram.

But it doesn’t stop just at the new look, as the new Call System Messages also has new features.

Skype’s new Call System Messages

Here’s what Skype has to say about the functionality of the new Call System Messages.

  • Crystal Clear Calls: With a range of refreshed call system messages UI – from Incoming Calls to Finished Calls – navigate your call experiences with ease.
  • Distinct Actions: From missed calls to declined ones, call system messages now come with actionable CTAs to guide your next move.Skype Call System Messages
  • Time-stamped: Call system messages are time-stamped, letting you trace back interactions effortlessly, both in your conversation and in the chat-list preview.
  • Versatility Redefined: Different call system message types are distinguishable, streamlining your chat flow.

The new Call System Messages UI should be available on all platforms over the next few days, as Skype will release it gradually.

Along with the new designs Microsoft released for Skype, the platform could easily compete with WhatsApp or Telegram. A while ago, Content Channels were also released on Skype, and we couldn’t help but notice the similarities with the WhatsApp channels.

With the new updates, Skype might have a chance to become a force in the mobile communication market. We’ll have to wait and see, but Skype is getting better.
