Windows 11 24H2 stuck

Windows 11 24H2 was released last October, and despite the major enhancements and new features, the release was full of bugs.

While Microsoft has addressed many of them, and the patch is mainly doing OK now, some still get stuck for dozens of hours in the installation process.

Take this Reddit user, for example: when they tried to install the latest major Windows 11 patch, the installation process went to 88%, and it got stuck there for more than 16 hours.

What should you do if this happens to you?

Try to make sure it’s not frozen. If you install Windows 11 24H2 on a PC, try to see if your hard drive light is blinking. If it does, then keep waiting.

You can also try to force restart the PC, and eventually, the Windows installation might resume or roll back.

If you’re not sure how to proceed, we have a comprehensive guide on what to do when the Windows installation or updating process gets stuck.
