Spotify makes it easier to find podcasts
You get personalized podcast recommendations on Home screen
Spotify has just announced a significant update for its mobile users, including a range of new features designed to make podcast discovery effortless and personalized, as if you’re getting recommendations from a friend. And, if you are a creator, you can gain access to better tools to widen your reach worldwide.
What are the new features?
Discovery Front and Center on Home
With this new feature, you’ll see personalized podcast and video podcast recommendations just below your shortcuts on the Home screen, making it easier to explore new shows and episodes. You can play or save them for later.
Additionally, you can also add a quick note for some recommendations, mentioning why that one is a good fit for you. Spotify has designed this feature to strike a balance between what you love and what you’d like to listen to next. This not only gives listeners a wide range of choices but also helps creators by providing them with an opportunity to connect with listeners worldwide. The feature is already rolled out globally, and you can try it today.
Introducing a smarter way to stay updated
If you follow multiple shows and podcasters, Spotify’s new feature can help you stay updated on all the latest releases from them. Now you get the new Podcasts Following feed within the main Podcast feed on Home, collecting all the latest episodes from the shows you follow.
This will make it easier for all of us to find our favorite podcast episodes, as previously, you had to sift through the app to locate them.
In this episode section
Spotify makes it easier for listeners to explore more of what they hear about during a podcast. With the new In this episode section, creators can add direct links to the content they mention in an episode in one place. This means that if a podcaster discusses a song, another podcast, an audiobook, or a playlist, you will find links to them on the episode page. The feature will roll out globally in the coming weeks.
Threaded replies and emoji reactions
Spotify is enhancing its comments experience with threaded replies and emoji reactions based on user feedback. This update provides creators with more opportunities to engage in deeper conversations with their listeners, allowing people to express themselves through emoji reactions.
Creators will have control over comment visibility via their Spotify for Creators account and choose to disable comments on specific shows or episodes.
