Surface Go 2 firmware update brings security fixes and improves Wi-Fi stability

Microsoft has released a new firmware update for  Surface Laptop Go 2 devices. It includes some critical security fixes and improves the stability of Wi-Fi during Reset/Recovery.

This latest version also fixes the issue that prevents the devices from resetting by holding the power button.

Here is the changelog mentioned on the update history page:

  • Addresses a potential security vulnerability related to Intel® Security Advisories INTEL-SA-00923INTEL-SA-00929 & INTEL-SA-00950.
  • Addresses pre-boot (PXE) and other security vulnerabilities.
  • Extends device security certificate authority.
  • Addresses a concern that was preventing the device to reset by holding the power button.
  • Improves the stability of Wi-Fi during Reset/Recovery.

The update is available for Surface Go 2 devices with Windows 10 version 22H2 and newer and Windows 11 version 22H2 or higher.

To install the update on your device, go to Settings>Windows Update and click Check for updates. You can also manually install the update from this website.

You need only choose the version compatible with your device’s OS. Once you’ve done this, double-click the file to initiate the installation. The file size is 382.6 MB, so ensure you have enough space.
