Microsoft Rewards users based in the US are gradually introduced to the new version of the program, which rewards fewer points daily.
The current maximum number of points you can earn daily in Microsoft Rewards if you’re based in the US is 150 for PC-related tasks and 100 for Mobile-related tasks. European members of the program earn less: 90 points for PC-related tasks and 60 points for Mobile-related tasks.
Understandably, some users are shocked. On Reddit, however, some are not surprised at all.
Microsoft Rewards lowering points gained per search and total points able to be earned from searching (I’m in the US)
Welcome to the rest of the world
However, it’s worth noting that not all members are currently affected by the change. In the US, Europe, and Australia, some are still earning 150/100 points for PC and Mobile tasks.
This means the Redmond-based tech giant is probably testing it in some regions or with some users, and it might fully roll out the change in the following months.
We reported earlier this year that compared to 2023, in 2024, Microsoft Rewards will reward up to 40% fewer points even when completing all the tasks, so this is not entirely unexpected.
Microsoft Rewards has also been flagging suspecting search activity, and if that happens to you, you might also be flagged for testing the new 90/60 Rewards system.
Has this change impacted you yet or not?
