This one-time Cyberpunk 2077-themed GeForce RTX 4090 can be won in a contest, but it's a real shame we can't purchase it

The team behind the Cyberpunk 2077 video game is releasing Cyberpunk 2077-themed GeForce RTX 4090 video cards that can be won in a contest as a one-time-only prize.

According to the studio, the release of the Cyberpunk 2077-themed version of the popular video card marks the celebration of the Ultimate Edition of the GeForce RTX 4090, and what would be a more suitable way to celebrate the popular video card than releasing a version of it with a game that is usually mentioned when testing video cards.

If you don’t know it, even though Cyberpunk was released 3 years ago, the game is still very demanding and it uses a lot of power, so it has become a popular video game to test CPUs and GPUs.

While riddled with controversy at release, and being taken down for some months due to some debilitating technical bugs, Cyberpunk has become one of the most popular video games in recent history, with over 25 million copies sold, and a growing fanbase.

The studio recently released an expansion pack for it, Phantom Liberty, and it also announced that a sequel is coming, so it’s safe to say Cyberpunk is an important point in the gaming industry.

For those many fans of the video game (and there are a lot), the recent announcement of the contest that has a one-time-only Cyberpunk 2077-themed GeForce RTX 4090 as a prize, is an exciting way to win something that can be placed in a collection, down the years.

However, for now, the studio behind the video game says this Cyberpunk 2077-themed GeForce RTX 4090 is only a one-time piece of hardware, meaning that it’s not up for sale, and that’s a real shame.

There was a similar situation this summer, when Microsoft offered a Barbie-themed Xbox console, as a prize for a contest, and many people asked back then if they could buy this version of the console instead. When they found they couldn’t, many of them were upset.

It’s not even for sale it’s a competition item that’s so annoying

Much like the Barbie-themed Xbox, the Cyberpunk 2077-themed GeForce RTX 4090 will not be available for purchasing, and for those of us who’d like the opportunity to have it, it’s not good. While this is a marketing strategy, and for good reasons, the companies behind this piece of hardware should be thinking about releasing it, even if in a limited capacity.

While it may not be commercially feasible to develop such a piece of hardware on a mass scale, a limited capacity would surely be sold.

Until that happens, though, if you do want to have a chance at owning the Cyberpunk 2077-themed GeForce RTX 4090, you’ll have to participate in the contest to win it.
