Fans of real-time strategy games got a major surprise during The Game Awards 2025 announcements with the reveal of Total War: Warhammer 40,000. Creative Assembly plans to blend classic Total War real-time strategy systems with the grimdark universe of Warhammer 40K.

The new entry shifts the formula by introducing galactic-scale battles, and the first trailer confirms orbital bombardments as a core gameplay element. The reveal also highlights four playable factions: Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Orks, and Aeldari.

The community already shows strong excitement since this marks the first time Total War gameplay merges with the Warhammer 40K setting. Many expected a move in this direction, especially after the success of the Total War: Warhammer trilogy. Creative Assembly didn’t share a release date, so fans must wait for more updates.
