Visual Studio 2022, the latest version of Microsoft’s IDE will officially launch on November 8, and a Release Candidate build is available to download for developers today. The company will also hold a Visual Studio 2022 digital event on November 8 to celebrate this release, with different sessions providing tips and tricks for developers.
The RC release of Visual Studio 2022 (version 17.0) comes with a go-live license for building production-ready apps. It can be installed alongside the new Visual Studio 2022 Preview 5, which includes the latest features the team is currently working on. When Visual Studio 2022 will officially launch on November 8, the Preview 5 version will update to Visual Studio 2022 17.1 Preview 1 and will bring more new features to developers.
Visual Studio 2022 was first announced back in April this year, and the Redmond giant has launched several previews of its developer IDE for Windows and macOS since then. One of the biggest highlights of this release is that it’s built exclusively for 64-bit PCs, allowing developers to edit, run, and debug complex solutions without running out of memory.
The Visual Studio 2022 launch event will kick off at 08:30 AM PT on November 8, and there will be a dedicated live Q&A session for developers. You can find more information about the free digital event on this page.
