If you’re a talented voice over actor or you simply do this as hobby, then you should know that pure talent is not enough. You also need a powerful and reliable voice over software to help you record your voice in pristine quality.

Of course, there are different types of voice over programs out there, suitable for distinct needs. Some of them focus more on multi-track recording, while others offer advanced audio editing features.

To make your job easier, Windows Report compiled a list of the best voice over tools that you can use on Windows 10. Read the product description and download the tools that best suits your needs.

Wondershare Filmora

Wondershare Filmora is perhaps the best voice over software out there. Unlike the other tools listed in this article, this program can help you record your voice, edit it and then add it to your video.

There is no need to use a third-party tool to edit and then paste your audio recording on the actual video.

If you need additional voice over, you can simply click the “+” button and add another audio track. At the same time, you can also add various effects to customize your audio recording.

If you want to learn more about Wondershare Filmora’s voice over feature, check out the video below:

Adobe Audition

Adobe Audition is a great tool for audio and voice over editing. This powerful tool is suitable for intermediate and advanced users.

It allows you to record, edit, mix and restore audio on your Windows computer. Indeed, Adobe Audition is very popular among users as an audio editing tool, but it also sports a voice over recording feature.

To record a voice over audio in Adobe Audition, you need to select your type of microphone first. So, go to Audition >Preferences > Audio Hardware and select your default input and set your recording parameters.

Now that you’ve added your default input microphone, go to File > New > Audio file. Add a name for your voice over recording, set the sample rate and bit depth, select your channel and start recording.

Once you’re done recording, you can now edit your voice over audio according to your needs.

You can download Adobe Audition from Adobe’s website.

3

Audacity

Audacity is an audio recording and editing software that needs no introduction. It is very popular among PC users thanks to its wide array of features and options.

Unlike Adobe Audition, Audacity is suitable for all categories of users, including absolute beginners.

Recording your voice using Audacity is extremely simple. All you need to do is click on the Record button and start talking. As soon as you started talking, a sound wave appears on the screen.

You can then edit your audio, crop the parts that you don’t want to include in your audio file, etc. You can also add a series of effects and change the pitch, speed, tempo, get rid of the clicking sounds on your mouse (which can be very helpful), and more.

Thanks to the Audacity’s intuitive UI, you’ll quickly grasp what each button does even if you haven’t used the tool before. So, if you haven’t done voice-over recording work before, Audacity is perhaps the best starting point for you.

Windows Voice Recorder

Although not a fully fledged software, this Windows 10 app is very useful when it comes to recording voice over audio.

Windows Voice Recorder allows you to record sounds, interviews, narrations, and more. You can also mark key moments as you record, edit, or play them back.

Starting a recording is very simple: all you need to do is hit the record button and that’s it. If you need to stop your recording session, you can then resume a paused recording in just one click.

All your recordings are automatically saved and stored in your Documents folder. You can then trim, rename or delete them and once you’re happy with the result, you can share it with your friends.

When it comes to voice-over recordings, as you probably have guessed already, the Windows Voice Recorder is quite limited. You need to use a second audio editing tool to access advanced editing options.

However, we decided to add this app to the list because it’s easy to use, it helps you record your voice and you can then use the respective audio files for voice over editing. Windows Voice Recorder is an UWP app, which means that you can use it on both PC and Windows 10 phones, which comes in very handy if you don’t have a PC around to record your voice.

Online Voice Recorder

Online Voice Recorder is another free resource that you can use to record your voice. As its name suggests, you don’t need high-end pieces of equipment to record your voice.

All you need is a computer, a browser and that’s pretty much it. Online Voice Recorder is actually a voice recording platform that you can use right in your browser. Your audio files are saved as mp3 files and you can then export them to a more powerful audio editor.

If you often struggle with silent fragments or you simply forgot your ideas when recording, Voice Recorder has got your back. It automatically detects silent fragments at the beginning and the end of your recording and deletes them.

This online voice recording platform protects your privacy. Your recordings are accessible to you alone and are not uploaded to Online Voice Recorder’s servers for storage.

Interested in trying out this platform? Go to this page then.

We’ll end our list here. As you can see, we tried to keep this list as diverse as possible, including voice recording and voice over software that you can download on your PC, as well as online voice recording platforms.
