1. Update your PC’s GPU driver

Try updating your PC’s GPU driver. The best way to do that is to scan your PC with driver updater software. Your driver updater utility will tell you if your GPU’s driver needs updating.

If so, you can then select to download and install the latest driver for your graphics card with the driver updater software.

Some of the most common Windows errors and bugs are a result of old or incompatible drivers. The lack of an up-to-date system can lead to lag, system errors or even BSoDs.To avoid these types of problems, you can use an automatic tool that will find, download, and install the right driver version on your Windows PC in just a couple of clicks, and we strongly recommend DriverFix. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Download and install DriverFix.
  2. Launch the application.
  3. Wait for DriverFix to detect all your faulty drivers.
  4. The software will now show you all the drivers that have issues, and you just need to select the ones you’d liked fixed.

If clean-booting Windows fixes the video-hung driver issue, the error was likely due to either conflicting programs or too much background software.

Clean booting removes superfluous startup software and services, which frees up system resources and reduces potential software conflicts.

You can restore your original boot configuration by selecting the Load startup items and Enable all options within MSConfig.

If you do that, however, you’ll need to identify what programs are conflicting with the game or free up system resources by closing background software before playing.
