Best Wi-Fi boosters for Windows 10
Netgear WN3500RP is a simple Wi-Fi booster that comes with 2 internal antennas. One great feature of this device is that you can plug it directly into a power outlet, or you can use it with its stand and a power cord.
This device comes with USB, LAN, and audio port, so you can easily connect a hard drive or a printer to your network. This Wi-Fi booster supports dual-band 802.11n standard and it can repeat both 2GHz and 5GHz signal.
Netgear WN3500RP doesn’t offer the best performance, but it’s certainly a decent device that will help you extend Wi-Fi range in your home. It’s also worth mentioning that Desktop version is available, and even though you cannot connect the desktop model directly to the power outlet, it comes with 4 LAN ports thus allowing you to easily connect more computers to your network.
Unlike the previous model we mentioned, Belkin F9K1122 doesn’t have USB or audio jack available, but it still comes with one LAN port. This device is small and inconspicuous and all that you need to do in order to use it is to connect it to a power outlet.
Belkin F9K1122 works with G and N wireless adapters and it supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. This might not be the most powerful Wi-Fi booster, but it’s certainly one of the most compacts.
Amped Wireless REA20
Amped Wireless REA20 wireless booster comes with 3 removable external antennas and it supports dual-band 802.11ac standard. This device offers a lot of customization options thanks to its software, so it will be perfect for advanced users.
Amped Wireless REA20 might not be the most compact device, and according to the reports, it doesn’t offer the best range. If you’re not an advanced user who wants to fine-tune Amped Wireless REA20, you might be interested in a different model.
D-Link DAP 1520
D-Link DAP 1520 is a minimalistic Wi-Fi booster that doesn’t have a power cable and a stand, instead, it connects directly to the power outlet. This device doesn’t have any additional ports, so if you want to connect your hard drive or printer to your wireless network, you won’t be able to do that by using this device.
D-Link DAP 1520 supports the latest dual-band 802.11ac standard, and it comes with 2 internal antennas. If you want a Wi-Fi extender without any additional ports, D-Link DAP 1520 offers great performance at a reasonable price.
Linksys RE6500 is a powerful Wi-Fi booster, and unlike several other devices on our list, you cannot connect Linksys RE6500 directly to a power outlet, instead, you need to power it using a standard power cable.
This Wi-Fi extender comes with 2 replaceable 3dBi dipole antennas and it supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless bands as well as the latest AC wireless standard. Regarding the connectivity, this device has 4 LAN ports as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. Unfortunately, there’s no USB port available, and that’s the only flaw of this Wi-Fi booster.
Linksys RE6500 is a powerful Wi-Fi extender, it offers great performance, and it’s one of the best Wi-Fi extenders on our list.
