Windows 11 26H1 Experimental Build Adds Better File Explorer Previews

Windows 11 26H1 Experimental Build 28120.2760 is now available to Windows Insiders with File Explorer, Microsoft Store, and input improvements.

The update also includes a known compatibility issue affecting PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS.

File Explorer can preview more downloaded files

File Explorer can now automatically display PDFs and other non-HTML files downloaded from the web in the Preview pane.

This lets users inspect supported downloaded files directly in File Explorer without opening them in another app.

Microsoft Store expands WinUI 3 purchase support

Microsoft Store now supports in-app purchases in packaged WinUI 3 apps that require elevation.

Developers can use Microsoft’s integrated commerce platform to offer purchases inside elevated WinUI 3 applications.

Microsoft fixes disappearing mouse cursor

Microsoft has also fixed an issue introduced in recent preview builds that could cause the mouse cursor to disappear in certain apps.

The fix should improve input reliability for Insiders who encountered the problem.

PUBG may not launch after the update

The biggest known issue affects PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS.

Microsoft confirmed that PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS may not launch after installing Build 28120.2760 because of a compatibility problem.

Microsoft has introduced a safeguard to help prevent stability issues and is working with the PUBG developer on a fix. The company has not announced when a resolution will arrive.
