Windows 11 Start Menu

Microsoft plans to redesign the Windows 11 Start menu with a refreshed layout and enhanced customization options to improve user experience.

The revamped Start menu would feature a more extensive, streamlined design, displaying all elements on a single scrollable page. The “All Apps” list, which showcases installed applications, would be located below the recommendations section for easier access.

One of the biggest changes is the ability to turn off the recommendations section entirely, granting users more control over their Start menu. This customization option has been highly requested by users seeking a cleaner interface.

Additionally, the “Pinned” apps list, which highlights frequently used applications, will be adjusted to display only two rows by default. However, users can expand this section to include more apps if needed.

Tech enthusiast @phantomofearth discovered the change in the latest Dev and Beta channel cumulative updates (CUs). For now, it’s hidden, meaning Microsoft doesn’t want Windows users to see it yet. However, the feature can be uncovered using the special third-party app Viveool.

What do you think about these major changes coming to Windows 11’s Start menu?
