windows 11 dynamic update

Microsoft has released March 2026 Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 11. The new update, KB5079473, covers versions 25H2 and 24H2, with respective build numbers 26200.8037 and 26100.8037.

As usual, these updates are mandatory, bringing security fixes and improvements that aim to make daily Windows 11 use smoother. In addition to following changes, these Patch Tuesday updates includes all improvements from February’s non-security update.

This update includes several improvements. First up, Secure Boot now uses smarter device targeting, which delivers new certificates only after confirming reliable update signals. Meanwhile, File Explorer gets more stable search results, especially when scanning multiple drives or “This PC.”

Moving on, Windows Defender Application Control improves COM object allowlisting, fixing cases where objects were wrongly blocked. Last but not least, Windows System Image Manager also adds a warning dialog to confirm trusted catalog files, helping prevent accidental errors.

Not to forget, Windows 10 users, who enrolled in Extended Security Updates (ESU) program, also received an security update, KB5078885, yesterday.
